Pauline Warde is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of Engineers Ireland. She has a Master’s degree in civil engineering from Queen’s University and has been running PW Design NI Limited since 2006.

Pauline has 30 years of experience in the construction industry, working with various well-known companies on everything from small domestic projects right up to large-scale shopping centres, schools, and factories.
PW Design NI Limited offers a full range of structural engineering services in many areas. Some of those are education, industrial, residential, retail, restoration, conservation, and specialist interior fit-outs, as well as structural surveys and assessments.
People with these homes were left disappointed when wanting to convert their roofs to usable rooms. The cost of stud strengthening and/or roof removal was prohibitive to owners of timber-framed houses. Her curious nature enabled her to come up with a very cost-effective solution.
Pauline applied for and received an Innovation Grant from Invest NI to carry out research for a revolutionary solution - the Ponte System - allowing timber-framed homes to be back on a par with masonry homes in terms of roof conversion. She contacted Queen’s University to carry out independent research to confirm its validity and safety. The research produced successful results, allowing the Ponte System to be patented and successfully installed in several homes.
